Chick-fil-A 5K Raised $1,100 for Wounded Warrior Project
With more than 150 runners registered for its 5K race, the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Pasadena Crossroads raised $1,100 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday, Oct. 13. In addition to the race, the event featured live music, vendors and keynote speaker Charles Eggleston, a former Army staff sergeant who was wounded in Iraq in 2005. Eggleston has overcome many hardships as a result of his injuries and is a strong advocate for wounded members of the military, regularly sharing motivational messages with and supporting former soldiers. To hold the 5K and additional activities, Chick-fil-A partnered with the local Pasadena Boy Scouts, Coca-Cola, Blue Star Families and the Ihoot Foundation.
