SOUPer Bowl Scores over $2200 for Light House Shelter
Purple reigned with tremendous generosity at Heritage Baptist Church’s 7th Annual SOUPer Bowl Lunch for the Light House Shelter in Annapolis on Sunday.
Approximately 200 people, most sporting Baltimore Ravens purple & black, donated over $2200 to sample soups prepared by Chef Zachary Pope of Roundz Gourmet Market & Catering in Gambrills and served by Maryland Speaker of the House Mike Busch, Annapolis City Council members Shelia Finlayson, Classie Hoyle & Fred Paone. Nashville recording artist & Crofton native Ashley Forrest performed “Amazing Grace” to kick off the event.
“We are very encouraged by the great turnout of folks united in the singular desire to help the homeless in our community,” Rev. Henry Green said. “Today, a host of faith backgrounds joined to support the work of the Light House Shelter. Together we can make a difference.”
Heritage Baptist (1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis) is a member of the Annapolis Area Ministries, a group of churches united to minister to the homeless.

Thank you for inviting me to participate in such a wonderful event to benefit the Light House Shelter. The people I met were so warm and friendly. Hopefully, you will invite me back next year. ♥Ashley
