Police Warn Residents About Break-ins
A phone message to residents offered tips about keeping doors and windows locked after about 10 residential burglaries occurred this month.
Residents who live around the area of Boulevard Park, off Mountain Road, recently received a police department robocall saying there had been a series of break-ins in the neighborhood.
Police confirmed that about 10 residential burglaries have taken place in that area since the beginning of September.
"Four incidents took place on North Carolina Avenue at different times along with two incidents on Kentucky Avenue, one on Tennessee Avenue, one on Pacific Road, one on Potomac Road and one on Hickory Point Road," according to Anne Arundel County police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.
The incidents reportedly occurred during the day and evening. Mulcahy said that in many cases, the homes were not secured and money or property were taken.
Police remind residents to:
- Lock windows and doors (of homes and vehicles)
- Use exterior lighting
- Report suspicious activity
If you have any information about these incidents, please call the eastern district station at 410-222-6145.

Anyone know what may have been happening last night on Lake Shore Drive? There were approximately 6-8 police cars shooting up Mountain Rd. and turned down Lake Shore Dr. around 9PM-9:30PM'ish. Just wondering if this is related.

I live in Boulevard Park and as of Friday 9/21 we are up to 13 break ins. Why is this not a head line story? Many of my neighbors had no idea. These burglars are brazen. They see the police presence in the neighborhood, yet continue to break in.....many times in broad daylight!

Today on Alvin Road there was an attempted break in and a neighbor chased the guy and he was caught by the Anne Arundel police. It's was a couple that drive thru the neighborhoods and look for no cars in the driveway......lock your cars, windows and doors. It could be a team working together....
