Arrest Made in Boat Battery Thefts

A Pasadena man admitted to stealing more than 20 marine batteries, according to police.

Police arrested a Pasadena man Wednesday after a month-long investigation into boat battery thefts in Anne Arundel County.

Cody Jay Tyler Dudley, 21, of Pasadena was arrested after he was identified as the main suspect in multiple incidents, according to Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP). He reportedly admitted to stealing more than 20 marine batteries.

NRP believes Dudley may have had an accomplice and asks anyone with information to call 410-295-4600 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Marine batteries do not having any identifying characteristics so NRP encourages boat owners to etch their Maryland registration number into their battery. That way, it can be identified if stolen.
