Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to a fire alarm at DeVere Insulation in Orchard Beach at about 7:10 a.m. Saturday and quickly requested additional help.

It took about 80 firefighters and 30 pieces of equipment about an hour to get the two-alarm blaze under control, said fire spokesman Capt. James Rostek. DeVere is located at 7501 Resource Ct.

Firefighters were still on the scene as of 8:55 a.m. and Rostek said he anticipated they would be there for another couple of hours for "overhaul" of the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Rostek said.

"Fire investigators have got to get in there to determine the cause and how much damage there is," he said.
