Five Questions with CHS Senior Athlete Joe Sank
Joe Sank has played both baseball and lacrosse at Chesapeake.
Patch stopped by Chesapeake High School to talk to a few senior athletes about their careers as Cougars and their plans moving forward.
Joe Sank is a senior at Chesapeake and has spent two years on the varsity football team, one-and-a-half years on the varsity baseball team and one year on the lacrosse team.
Pasadena Patch: What is your favorite memory from Chesapeake High School?
Joe Sank: For football it would probably have to be helping to turn around the program this year because we had struggled in past years, and did well this year. In baseball, heading to the State Championship and losing by one run was a good experience. For lacrosse, just making the team was cool. There’s a lot of great family there and it is a good time.
Pasadena Patch: What are your plans for after high school?
Sank: I am probably going to AACC and get into a math major. I don’t believe they have a football team, which is what I was looking to go to college for, but I might tryout for baseball, depending on how rusty I am.
Pasadena Patch: What are you most looking forward to in college?
Sank: Just meeting new people and having freedom with classes. Also, I am looking forward to running on your own schedule.
Pasadena Patch: What was your favorite class that you took while at Chesapeake?
Sank: I would have to say production systems, which is a tech ed class. It’s really hands on. I just like working and creating a project on your own. It’s pretty fun.
Pasadena Patch: Who was your favorite teacher at Chesapeake?
Sank: I would have to say Ms. Lang. She was my math teacher my freshman year and she really helped turn my attitude towards education around. She helped get me on track for better grades.
