Mountain Road Library Hosts ‘Read Across America’ Celebration

The library will be holding a pajama party.

In an effort to celebrate “Read Across America Day,” an event sponsored by the National Education Association, the Mountain Road Library will host a reading celebration at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1.

Kids in preschool through second grade are invited to throw on their pajamas and bring their sleeping bags to the library for a campout. During the event, the library plans to celebrate all things Seuss with stories by the campfire.

“Read Across America Day” coincides with the celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, which is on March 2. The Mountain Road Library will honor Dr. Seuss by reading some of his classics.

The event is being organized by librarian Shelley Davenport and those seeking more information are asked to contact the Mountain Road Library.

It is too bad I heard about this too late to tell the library about the best GREEN EGGS AND HAM reader in the whole world. Perhaps you may know him too? ox
