Neighbor Retaliates After Dogs Kill Goats in Pasadena

Two goats were killed in an animal attack in Pasadena, and a dog was shot in retaliation, police said.

A two-year-old Husky was shot and killed by a man after the dog attacked and killed two goats at a farm in the 800 block of Woods Road.

Anne Arundel County police said two dogs were involved in the attack on the goats on Saturday, after they entered a fenced-in goat pen on a neighbor's property. The goats' owner attempted to stop the dogs, but "both dogs turned and charged him," according to a release.

"As a result, the Husky was shot and killed. The other dog, tentatively described as a Shepherd/Husky mix, was shot and possibly wounded," according to the release.

The second dog has not been located at this time. The dog's owner was notified of the incident, and the animal does not have a prior incident history with Animal Control.

Police said they believe the Husky escaped its property underneath a fence before making its way to the farm with the goats.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the second dog in the attack is urged to contact Anne Arundel County Animal Control at 410-222-8900.

I know how hard it is when dogs attack your flock of goats or sheep. We had some that were killed and a lamb survived. We exhibited the lamb, even though it's wool was still torn off, at the fair to show people that they should keep their dogs under proper control when livestock live nearby.

How can a living creature be "shot and possibly wounded?" If you are shot... and you are not dead...you ARE wounded! If this is what truly happened the dogs got off easy...they should be attacked by a grizzly bear while THEIR owners watch!
