New Principals Will Head to Northeast, Jacobsville
Jason Williams, formerly an assistant principal at Corkan Middle, will take over as principal of Northeast High School in the fall.
Two Pasadena schools will have new principals at the start of the 2012-1013 school year.
Fifteen of the new assignments have been finalized and at least nine schools will have first-year principals when the schools open in August, according to a press release from Anne Arundel County Public Schools spokesman Bob Mosier.
Northeast will be among the schools to have a first-year principal. According to the release, Jason Williams will take over at Northeast. Williams was formerly an assistant principal at Corkran Middle in Glen Burnie
Superintendent Kevin Maxwell also transferred six principals to lead new schools in the fall, according to the release.
Gwen Atkinson, formerly principal at Rippling Woods Elementary, will head to Jacobsville Elementary School.
“I believe these changes make us better as an overall system as we continue along our journey to greatness,” Maxwell said in a press release. “I am excited about the talented group of new principals who have been promoted and am confident that those principals who are changing locations will be great asset s to the new communities which they will now serve.”
