A Pasadena man won the 39th Annual White Marlin Open in Ocean City, MD over the weekend.
According to the White Marlin Open’s website, William "Bill" Woody from Pasadena caught a 72-pound white marlin, which earned him more than $1.4 million in prize money.
Woody’s boat, the Blew Bayou, was one of 253 boats that participated in the event. The White Marlin Open awarded a total of about $2.3 million in prizes at the conclusion of the contest.
Woody’s 72-pound catch was the only marlin to qualify for the contest, according to the website.
