Lake Shore Elementary was busy helping the environment Monday in honor of Earth Day. The entire school participated in a flower planting.

Kindergarten teacher Lauren Marino said each child that returned a signed permission slip planted a flower on school grounds. The project was funded by the Lake Shore PTA and was a celebration of all of the school’s "green" activities.

Each grade level was assigned a color flower to plant and students were encouraged to wear their assigned color on the day of the planting.
