The U.S. Coast Guard and Anne Arundel County Fire Department searched all night before finding the 43-year-old man dead.
The body of a 43-year-old Pasadena boater was found late Tuesday night by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard after an all-night search, according to Battalion Chief Steve Thompson of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
The fire department was contacted at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday night to assist the U.S. Coast Guard following a report of a boating accident and a missing person. They searched until about 1 a.m. but did not find anything.
The Coast Guard continued to search and found an overturned boat around 2 a.m. Then at 7:30 a.m. fire officials were called by the Coast Guard to Stoney Creek Bridge Marina in Greenland Beach.
According to Thompson, they found the body of a 43-year-old man who they assumed had been with the boat.
The Coast Guard has not identified the man at this time and the Department of Natural Resources has taken over the investigation into the incident, The Capital reported.
According to The Capital, the man’s wife said he went sailing at 3 p.m. and was expected back two hours later. She reported him missing at 6:30 p.m.
