Members of the U.S. Navy Band's Commodores Jazz Ensemble received a standing ovation Sunday night from those who attended their concert in John H. Downs Memorial Park in Pasadena.

Known simply as Downs Park, the facility is the site of the Bayside Summer Concert Series, and musical groups may be seen on Sundays at 6:30 p.m.

The park is located on the Chesapeake Bay and is part of the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation & Parks.

Sunday night's performance was the last such performance in Pasadena for Musician-Chief Petty Officer Yolanda C. Pelzer, of Columbia, S.C., who is scheduled to retire soon from military service.
