Chesapeake High School first home football game
When: 6:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Chesapeake High School
Details: The Cougar football team will host its first game at home on Friday against South River High School. The team finished the season last year with a 5-5 record, despite going 3-27 over the three previous years.

Severna Park High School first football game
When: 6:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Glen Burnie High School
Details: The Falcons, who went 6-4 last year, will open the 2012 season on the road vs. Glen Burnie.

Pre-Labor Day blowout
When: Friday
Where: Bamboo Bernie's
Details: Celebrate the end of summer with a party at Bernie's.

Bath & Body Works Candle Sale
When: Friday-Sunday
Where: Bath & Body Works
Details: Starting Thursday, Bath & Body Works will offer a sale on candles at two for $20. The candles are normally about $20 each.

One last swim
When: Monday
Where: Oakleigh Forest Pool, Evergreen Estates Community Pool and North Severna Park Community Pool
Details: Area swimming pools will close on Monday.
