SRYA Baseball, Spring 2014

Travel teams forming NOW please contact baseball@srya.org for information.

South River Seahawk Baseball had its’ most successful season ever last Spring.  The Program claimed 9 tournament titles which has to be some kind of a record and too many semi final appearances to count.  We can boast of a Travel League Champion, Travel League Tournament Champion, multiple  Tournament MVP awards, and multiple local and regional tournament championships including 2 at “Sports at the Beach” on the final day of the season.  The coaches, players and support staff should all be very proud of their accomplishments. During our off season we secured a berth to Cooperstown, our 12 year old travel squad will play at the renowned Cooperstown Dreams Park for tournament play the third week of June 2014.  This means our Program now will have a spot annually.  Each year we will send a team to Cooperstown to play in this prestigious tournament. This season South River will be fielding travel teams at all age levels. Elite players are encouraged to participate. These teams will play in multiple regional tournaments in addition to elite league play. As always, we will continue to field teams in the Anne Arundel County Parks and Recreation league in all age groups. These teams will compete against organizations throughout the county. Our clinic program starts with T-Ball for ages 4 to 6 years old. Machine Pitch is for ages 6 to 8. More skilled 6 year olds play Machine Pitch. This is a great segue from t-ball to kid pitch ball. A SRYA CBA Travel 8u baseball team will be formed for play by the highest skilled 8 year olds.
