The scholarship program has honored a Pasadena resident twice.

Starting Feb. 1, Kohl’s will begin accepting nominations of outstanding youth volunteers for its Kohl’s Care Scholarship Program.

According to an announcement, The Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program is part of Kohl’s Cares, a philanthropic program that rewards kids for charitable work. Since the program began in 2001, Kohl’s has recognized more than 17,000 kids with more than $3.4 million in scholarships and prizes.

For the past two years, a Pasadena youth has been recognized by the scholarship program. The program provides new sleepwear and themed pajama parties to pediatric patients in local hospitals.
