Downs Park Bayside kicked off their summer concert series featuring the Electric Brigade of The Naval Academy.
The smell of hot dogs and sunscreen filled the air and a beautiful view of the Chesapeake Bay was to the right of the concert.
The Electric Brigade played a variety of music, from the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, to the Zach Brown Band. It was a mixture of music to fill everyone’s taste.
Kathleen Slack of Pasadena enjoys the concerts at Downs Park and has been a regular attendee throughout the years. Slack had the perfect set up, a blanket to sit on and a chance to soak it all in before a busy work week.
"The band was very upbeat, uplifting and fantastic," said Slack, who added that she was impressed with how the band interacted with the crowd.
Darlene and Bill Reil from Gibson Island had their two kids in tow.
"It's very enjoyable and relaxing," said Bill Reil, who also said that the band was reminiscient of his high school years.
The band even improvised during a power outage by dancing and juggling which caused the audience to break out into laughter. One band member even did the robot!
“The band was awesome, fun, entertaining, family friendly and amazing,” said audience member Patti Delfs.
“Next week Downs Park will be featuring Bad with Names, a local home favorite band,” said Andrea Clayville, a member of the Friends of Downs Park. They will also have pit beef and sausage to purchase as well as the regular menu at the food stand.
Dave Cohn from the Friends of Downs Park also announced over the loud speaker that they would not be able to hold this event without the help and support of Lauer’s, Apple Press, Pasadena Business Association and Kurtz Beach.
