A new organic option for fruits and vegetables is available to Pasadena residents.
, is now delivering to residents in the Pasadena area. The business offers fresh, organic vegetables to be purchased online and shipped to your door.
“What we do is we bring in and stock, on average, 80-plus organic fruits and veggies and then display them on website,” said John MacPherson, who launched the business with his wife, Kathy. “We are currently doing deliveries to Severna Park, Arnold, Annapolis and Pasadena.”
MacPherson said Organic Express will deliver anywhere in central Anne Arundel County free of charge for a minimum order of $25. The organic food comes from a cooperative in southern Pennsylvania.
MacPherson said one of the best things about Organic Express is that it doesn’t require any kind of commitment.
“The great thing about us is you can get what you want,” he said. “You might have heard of other programs that you sign up and you have to get a certain number of boxes and you can’t substitute. We show you exactly what you are going to get and if you don’t like asparagus we can get something else in your box. You can communicate what you want through the website.”
Those interested in ordering from Organic Express may go to their website and pick-and-choose what they want.
“A cart is set up online and you click on fruits and vegetables that you want,” MacPherson said. “We update the site weekly, and we offer monthly and weekly specials. We offer garden vegetable or fruit boxes so you can get a small, medium or large garden box. You can also mix between fruits and vegetables.”
MacPherson recognizes that some people go to a farmer’s market for their produce, but said that Organic Express offers more than a farmer’s market does.
“A farmers market is all well and good but here you have two people who are well trained to the restaurant business and have a good eye to pick things out,” he said.
