Not Feeling the Love?

If you’re single on Valentine’s Day this year, don’t worry. You can still have fun.

For those who aren’t blissfully happy and in love, Valentine’s Day can be a bit of a bummer. Seeing all the happy couples kissing and carrying on with public displays of affection can be annoying.

If you aren’t feeling the love this Valentine’s Day, you aren’t alone.

An article in the Chicago Tribune polled 730 singles, and about a third of the men and women polled feel that cupid’s magical day is too commercial.

Furthermore, a particularly cheerful blog on CNN.com listed the “Top Five Movies for Single Awareness Day.”  These hits included “Fatal Attraction,” “The Break Up,” and “Kill Bill,” among others.

So if you are single on Valentine’s Day this year, you can check out some of CNN’s recommend anti-romance movies. Or you could try some other activities to make Valentine’s Day less annoying.

“This Means War,” staring Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon comes out on Valentine’s Day. So find some girlfriends and head to the movie theater, because there are a lot worse things you can do on Valentine’s Day than watch Pine on the big screen for a few hours.

Just because you don’t have a date doesn’t mean you can’t have a fun dinner. Avoid all the couples waiting an hour for a table. Order a pizza and invite some friends over for a game night. You’ll be so busy laughing and having fun you won’t even remember that it’s Valentine’s Day.

If you don’t mind going out in the crowd, head to or The and catch a game with some buddies. You can have a drink, eat some appetizers and hang out with your friends. No date required.

So if you aren’t feeling the love tomorrow, you don’t have to be miserable. Celebrate your singlehood and find something fun to do. After all, just because you’re not in a relationship doesn’t mean you’re alone. Call up your friends and use the day as an excuse to have fun on a weeknight.
