I have such a hard time fitting in exercise now that I'm a mom. What suggestions do you have for ways to make time for fitness?
Gyms in the area like Gold's (http://www.goldsgym.com,) Big Vanilla (http://www.bigvanilla.com) and Transformations (http://www.transformationspasadena.com) all have child care. It costs a little more, but it is a life saver for me! I love being able to get in a good, long work-out while someone else looks after my kids. It gives me a much-needed break mid-day, and I've started looking at my workouts as a treat, not an obligation. If you're looking to work out with your kids, I'd suggest Stroller Strides (http://www.strollerstrides.com/,) a program that incorporates your stroller into a cardio workout. It's also great to go to local parks in the area and run or walk on the trails and then let the kids play on the playgrounds afterward!
If you have 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening then you can definitely squeeze in a bit of exercise. Sounds harsh, I know - but I tell myself this every day just to stay motivated. Depending on which company you subscribe to for cable television you can get to the Exercise TV menu of the on demand menu and there are 10 minute workouts. I am a HUGE fan of doing the 10 minute abs as well as the 10 minute buns and thighs. They really work and it's an awesome way to ease in to exercising without feeling overwhelmed.
