2-Alarm Fire Sends Man to Hospital

The fire on Della Rosa Court in Pasadena Sunday night caused about $225,000 in damages.

A two-alarm fire in Pasadena Sunday night sent one man to the hospital and caused about $225,000 in damages, said an Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman.

Division Chief Michael Cox said the fire occurred in a town home in the 7900 block of Della Rosa Court at 7:50 p.m. Sunday. When firefighters arrived on scene, they reportedly saw smoke coming from the basement and first floor of the two-story middle row town house. Additional resources were then called.

Cox said it took 46 firefighters 20 minutes to bring the two-alarm fire under control.

A man was inside the home at the time of the fire and suffered serious but not life-threatening burn injuries, according to Cox. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and then transported, via helicopter, to the burn unit at Johns Hopkins Bay View Medical Center in Baltimore.

The fire originated inside the home and is currently under investigation. However, Cox said the fire is believed to be accidental in nature.

Cox said the fire caused about $225,000 in damages.
