2 Men Face Assault Charges in Towson Incident

Police say a group of men shouted racially-charged remarks and assaulted two men outside a Towson pizzeria.

Two Anne Arundel County men were arrested and charged with assault following an early-morning fight in Towson on Friday, Baltimore County police said.

Glen Kyle Staley, 27, of the 1600 block of Wall Drive in Pasadena and Jamar Rashad Patterson, 22, of the 900 block of Mago Vista Road in Arnold have both been charged with second-degree assault.

Officers were called to the scene outside  in the 100 block of York Road in Towson at 2:35 a.m. Friday, according to police.

According to police, a witness told the officers that two men, both white and aged 22 and 25, were ordering food at Pizans. The men were followed into the restaurant by six men, who, according to witnesses, shouted racial remarks at the two victims and did not order any food. Police said that the six men then followed the victims.

A victim told police that the men knocked the pizza out of his hands for no reason, and then a fight began. One man was taken to  with injuries that were not life-threatening. The other received minor injuries and was not hospitalized.

The fight continued until police came, when the assailants fled toward Linden Terrace.

Patterson was arrested after a brief chase on foot, while Staley was arrested near the intersection of Aigburth and York roads.

No photographs of Staley or Patterson were made available by police, citing an ongoing investigation.

Both men are being held in the on $75,000 bail. Police are still seeking four other suspects. Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call police at 410-307-2020.
