A man surrendered to authorities four hours after he barricaded himself in a home off Landon Lane, threatening to harm himself with a shotgun, police said.

When officers arrived at the home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, they quickly determined he was alone, according to a police report.

Anne Arundel County Police Department's Special Operations Division and the Conflict Negotiation Team arrived to resolve the incident. After several hours of negotiations, the man voluntarily left the residence, police said.

No criminal charges are being filed, according to the report.

For nearly four hours, police cordoned off a portion of Shore Acres Drive in Arnold while the situation was being resolved.
