The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that was the remains of a white female, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Police said the medical examiner determined that the unidentified human remains are that of a woman approximately 18 to 20 years old, 5’6’’ with brown hair. It appears as though the manner of death has preliminarily been ruled as homicide due to the trauma to the upper body, according to police.
Just before 3 p.m. on Monday, Anne Arundel County police responded to the wooded area behind the shopping center off Ritchie Highway—where the is located— when a man who was walking through the woods said he found what appeared to be a human skull.
After an extensive search, police and a search team found the rest of the body. The unidentified body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore, according to police.
