Anne Arundel County police believe a woman with a handgun was involved in two separate incidents early Saturday morning in Glen Burnie.
Officers responded to the Rite Aid at 1712 Crain Highway South for an attempted armed robbery just before 5 a.m. Saturday, according to police. Employees told police that a woman entered the store and pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money, but the woman left without taking any cash or items from the store. Police said the employees were not harmed in the incident.
The woman was described to police as black with light skin, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds, and wearing a purple skull cap with a purple bandana around her face.
After the unsuccessful robbery attempt and just minutes later, a woman matching the same description entered a nearby Royal Farms at 200
Oak Manor Dr. The clerk told police a woman entered the store with a handgun, demanded money and then ran from the store with the cash in the direction of Oak Manor Drive.
Police were unable to locate the woman and said in a release that it is unknown
at this time if there was a vehicle or other suspects involved. The investigation is ongoing.
