Police: Speed Could Be Factor in Pasadena Crash

An accident early Saturday morning left a 29-year-old Severna Park man with critical injuries.

A car struck a concrete retaining wall on southbound Catherine Avenue at Harlem Avenue in Pasadena early Saturday morning, police said.

The single-vehicle accident reportedly occurred just before 2 a.m. Saturday. Officers arrived on the scene to find the driver resting outside the vehicle with "significant injuries," according to a press release from Anne Arundel County police.

The driver, a 29-year-old from Severna Park, was taken by fire department personnel to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries.

Police said it appears speed is a factor and it is undetermined if alcohol contributed to the crash because it is still being investigated.
