Good afternoon O's fans on the gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Man, what a great win by the O's last night. I feel like I am repeating myself daily. I hope I have too keep on repeating myself. The pitching continues to be unreal. Jake Arrieta came out and made a statement last night in DC. He went 7 innings giving up 1 run and had 9 strike outs!!!!! There was not much offense but just enough to win. Adam Jones had a RBI infield single off Edwin Jackson's foot in the 1st inning. Ian Desmond tied the game in the 6th with a solo shot. Edwin Jackson and Arrieta battled inning after inning, pitch after pitch. The two bull pens also pitched well. Nick Markakis came through on a solo blast off Ryan Mattheus in the top of the 11th inning. Pedro Strop came in to close for the O's as Jason Johnson had pitched 3 days in a row. He made it interesting but got it done. He hit the lead off guy, Steve Lombardozzi (from Columbia, MD) then was able to get Ian Desmond to hit into a double play. He then struck out Roger Bernadina but threw a slider way out in front of the plate that Wieters had no shot at stopping and Bernadina was able to reach 1st. Ryan Zimmerman who is known for walk off wins in DC then singled up the middle. Now the tying run was on 2nd. This brought up the Nats hottest hitter Adam Laroche. Pedro was able to get him to hit a dribbler back to the mound and the game was over. The O's won the first game of the Parkway battle. They have now won 4 games in a row, 8 games in a row on the road and have a 2 game lead in the American League East. WOW!!! Orioles Magic, Feel it Happen. Man, I love this. Let's get it on again tonight with the Nats!!!! Go O's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
