Visited for happy hour and was not impressed. No where to sit. Happy hour discounts and food were just ok.

I had dinner at the new Tall Oaks on Sunday 4/3 We could not have been more pleased. The appetizers and the entrees were superb. I had eaten at the old Tall Oaks and at Windows. The new Tall Oaks combines the great classy food of Windows and the small neighborhood feel of the Old Tall Oaks. To Dennis Walz and his partner cudos for a job well done!!!

Tradition and Reputation go very well with Talloaks! The newly opened restaurant carries the History of Pasadena, MD in its name. It also provides a contemporary cuisine not to be forgotten by the previous owner of Windows on the Bay. A quite Picturesque and quiet setting. The Bar is thickly lacquered with pictures from the History of both establishments. Talloaks is a place you'll want to visit for light fare to fine dining with reasonable pricing in a down home atmosphere!
I have been a resident of Pasadena for many years and, as such, I often dined at the original Tall Oaks Restaurant. Yesterday, I had lunch at the "new" Tall Oaks. It doesn't have the class and delicious entrees offered at Windows Restaurant and it doesn't have the comfortable, homey feel and area favorites of the original Tall Oaks. My flatbread appetizer was covered with a very acidic pasta sauce (YUK! and that was not mentioned on the menu) with very little cheese. My friend's crabcake wasn't made of lump crab meat -- or if there was lump crab meat in it, there wasn't much. On the plus side, the woman who served us was very friendly. But it is highly unlikely that I will ever eat at the "new" Tall Oaks again. It actually has no identity. It is just rather blah.

I just got jaxxed as "Tolstoy" for exceding 1500 characters for a review. My full review is on Yelp, so go there for restaurant reviews that may have something more than "it was good" or "It was bad".
I highly recommend Tall Oaks for quality food, I can't believe some of the negative reviews expressed here, they might be from other restaurants. I am local, I go there about twice a week, maybe less if we get some Pho or I make something special at home. Just go there and try them out, good prime rib, fish, happy hour appetizers are cheap, but these are culinary institute chefs and most things are very good. Tell them Captn Andy sent you and maybe you'll get served.
