Anonymous Donor Sponsors Animal Control Adoption Event

Standard adoption fees at Anne Arundel County Animal Control will be waived March 12-16.

Looking to add a furry friend to your home? Now may be the perfect time. Thanks to an anonymous donor, all standard adoption fees at Anne Arundel County Animal Control will be paid for by a benefactor March 12-16, which makes pet adoptions free for approved adopters. According to a news release, it is the goal of the donor and the shelter to increase awareness about the thousands of adoptable animals searching for homes. Potential adopters will still need to pass the screening process at Anne Arundel County Animal Control. Anyone planning to adopt should bring with them a leash and collar for dogs or a carrier for cats.  Anne Arundel County Animal Control is located at 411 Maxwell Frye Rd. in Millersville. Adoption hours are as follows:

Shelter staff have gotten to know Riley very well over the past several months as Riley has come to the shelter five times as a stray since October 2012. Riley's owners have been notified that he has once again been brought to the shelter, however they have been unresponsive to Animal Control's attempts to contact them since January. Unfortunately, keeping Riley confined to his property, with his propensity to roam, is difficult. …
