PJ PJ is an approximately 5-year-old neutered male domestic short hair. He was adopted from the shelter and returned shortly after because he was "not adjusting to the dogs at home." Here at the shelter, PJ is an outgoing, friendly and relaxed cat. He is looking for a new home, preferably without dogs. She was shy when she first arrived at the shelter but her personality has really blossomed. She has lived in a home with other cats and done well. You can help a furry friend in need this holiday season by donating supplies to Anne Arundel Animal Control. Animal control is now accepting donations of new items for its annual drive: “Give A Pet A Happy Holiday.” During the holiday season, the program helps to provide supplies to needy pet owners. Donations may be taken to Anne Arundel Animal Control, which is located at 411 Maxwell Frye Rd. in Millersville, during viewing hours from now until Dec. 15. Acceptable pet donations include: canned food items, crates/carriers, leashes, collars, dry food, bird toys, pet toys, bedding, treats, cat litter and bird feed. Looking to make an addition to your family? Consider attending animal control’s “Adopt-A-Thon” on Saturday. Anne Arundel County Animal Control, located in Millersville, will be hosting an animal adoption day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a release from the police department. The event will feature live music, face painting, a reptile display, and various rescue groups with adoptable pets. There also will be food and refreshments. The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s K-9 Unit will do a demonstration and there will be local spay/neuter educational information and more. The event will be held on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Anne Arundel County Animal Control clinic in Millersville.
Anne Arundel County Animal Control will be offering a rabies and microchip clinic for the public on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Rabies vaccines cost $5 per pet and microchips cost $20 per pet. Animal Control accepts cash in $20 increments or smaller. They also accept checks. Lines reportedly form outside of the clinic during these events so attendees are encouraged to come prepared for the weather. In addition, clinic attendees are responsible for bringing necessary supplies (such as food, water and bags to clean up after pets) for themselves and their pets.
