Police say they were unable to locate the suspects after the incident on Friday night.
Police said two men knocked down and robbed a man at gunpoint in Millersville on Friday night. The incident occurred less than a mile from police headquarters, in the 8300 block of Veterans Highway. Officers spoke to a 45-year-old man who said he was leaving a business just after 8 p.m. Friday when two men approached him. The man told police one of the men produced a handgun and demanded money. The men threw the victim down and took an undisclosed amount of money before running into a nearby parking lot and fleeing in a dark-colored SUV, according to police. The vehicle was last seen heading south on Veterans Highway. Several officers searched the area but were unable to locate the men.

A shoplifter took $1,000 in merchandise from a CVS on Magothy Beach Road on Wednesday.
Anne Arundel County Police have obtained footage of a shoplifter in a Pasadena CVS Pharmacy, who they said made off with $1,000 in store merchandise. An unidentified woman described as being in her mid-20s entered the CVS on Magothy Beach Road on Wednesday at noon, and fled while carrying approximately $1,000 in store property, according to a press release from AACOPD. Video surveillance captured images of the suspect stealing the property and fleeing from the scene. At this time, no further information is available and the investigation is ongoing. A man was robbed at knifepoint on Mountain Road on Tuesday, police said.
Anne Arundel County police are searching for two men involved in a robbery at knifepoint on Tuesday night. Just before midnight on Tuesday, Anne Arundel County police arrived at the 3000 block of Mountain Road for a reported armed robbery. A male victim said he was approached by two men armed with knives on Mountain Road. One suspect demanded money, and the victim complied, turning over an undisclosed amount before the suspects fled toward Gladnor Road, according to police. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was not injured during the robbery. Opening the doors of access for those seeking mental health care is the single greatest challenge facing the industry today, a panel of experts said Tuesday. Representatives of Anne Arundel County government, schools, police and area hospitals met Tuesday at Anne Arundel Community College to discuss ongoing problems facing the mental health industry. The group meets annually at the community college to revisit the discussion. As you're making plans to watch the big game (and hopefully celebrate the outcome if the Baltimore Ravens win), county police are reminding people to make arrangements to avoid drinking and driving on Super Bowl Sunday. Anne Arundel County police say a man shot his estranged wife and himself early Monday morning.
UPDATE (10:50 a.m.)—A Bowie man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a murder-suicide attempt in the 300 block of Harry S. Truman Parkway early Monday morning, according to Anne Arundel County police. Officers responded to the scene around 1 a.m. on Monday, and found two people with gunshot wounds. Emergency responders pronounced 50-year-old Calvin Cofield—who police believe to be the gunman—dead at the scene. Tracy Lynn West, 43, of Crownsville was transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to police. Police said that West is the estranged wife of Cofield. A delegate and senator are researching what can be done to slow the spread of "spice" in Anne Arundel County.
Two legislators in Anne Arundel County want to regulate the sale of synthetic marijuana, often called "spice," by cracking down on how the substance is categorized by police. Delegate Cathy Vitale (R-Severna Park) called spice an epidemic, saying action needed to be taken now to prevent its spread. Her criticism is joined by Sen. Ed DeGrange, (D-Glen Burnie). Vitale met with members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department to see what could be done locally for the problem, according to The Capital. Vitale said she would like spice to be treated the same as psuedoephedrine, which the federal government regulates because of its use in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The suspect was seen behind the school during dismissal.
A police manhunt for a suspect in an attempted burglary kept students at Lake Shore Elementary inside during the school's dismissal Thursday. Anne Arundel County police said they were were searching for a suspect in the 8400 block of Alvin Road in Pasadena, where a caller had indicated a man was seen trying to break into a neighbor’s home, according to a police statement. Officers swarmed the area in an attempt to set up a perimeter and locate the suspect. Administrators at Lake Shore Elementary, located about a half-mile from the original incident, elected to keep students inside the building, which disrupted normal dismissal, police said.
