Woman Dies in Anne Arundel Fire

Firefighters say a teen escaped from a second-story window but an elderly woman died Wednesday in Odenton.

An elderly woman died Wednesday after a fire struck a duplex in the Chapelgate section of Odenton. A 15-year-old boy escaped after jumping from a second-story window, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The woman and the teen were reportedly the only ones home at the time of the incident, which occurred at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Tenbrook Road. If the woman's cause of death is ruled to be fire-related, it will be the sixth one in the county this year. Click here to read more details about the fire.
