Volunteers to Help County Homeless on Saturday

Anne Arundel County's sixth annual Homeless Resource Day takes place Saturday at Glen Burnie High School.

The homeless in Anne Arundel County will get some help Saturday securing transportation, medical services, housing, job assistance and other access to increase their quality of life for the year ahead. This is all thanks to the volunteers, local leaders, non-profits and businesses involved in the sixth annual Homeless Resource Day, which will take place starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Glen Burnie High School. "This event has been very successful in helping people get back on their feet and off the street," said Marcia Kennai, director of the county's Department of Social Services, in a press release. Kamryn Lambert Foundation Hosts Annual Holiday Drive

The Pasadena-based nonprofit organization works to help pediatric patients in need during the holidays.

Every kid needs a little love when Christmas rolls around, but some might need an additional helping hand here or there. The Kamryn Lambert Foundation, a local nonprofit organization founded by Pasadena native Debi Katzenberger, is out to help some of those kids in need with its annual holiday drive. The Kamryn Lambert Foundation was founded in honor of Katzenberger's granddaughter, who passed away at age 9 after battling leukemia. The Foundation is known for a variety of programs for kids in need, particularly its annual nursing scholarships. The holiday drive was the first charitable act that Kamryn's family did in her name.
