Officials Identify Fire Victim, Confirm Cause of Death

The first fire-related death in Anne Arundel County occurred when a man died in the Maryland City area on Jan. 2.

Steven Bradley Herman Sr. was positively identified as the person who died after a fire in a mobile home in Maryland City nearly two weeks ago, according to an announcement from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department on Tuesday. Firefighters were dispatched on Jan. 2 to a fire in the unit block of Zona Road in the Parkway Village Mobile Home Park after neighbors observed smoke coming from the home, according to a press release from the fire department. Herman reportedly suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, a fire department press release confirms the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be fire-related.     See more:

One Dies in Fire at Anne Arundel Mobile Home Park

The fire department says there were an estimated $150,000 in damages.

The first fire-related death in Anne Arundel County occurred Wednesday morning when one person died in the Maryland City area. According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday to a fire in the unit block of Zona Road in the Parkway Village Mobile Home Park.   Neighbors reported the fire after they observed smoke coming from the home. An occupant in the one-story double-wide mobile home suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release. It reportedly took about 40 firefighters from Anne Arundel (including Fort Meade), Prince George's and Howard counties 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.  Damages are estimated at $150,000 and the …
