A traffic stop led to the seizure of cocaine at a Glen Burnie hotel Monday night.
Anne Arundel County police arrested a man and woman from Pasadena in a traffic stop that ultimately led officers to find $7,000 in cocaine at Glen Burnie hotel on Monday night. Between April and May, detectives received a tip that two people were distributing cocaine between Glen Burnie and Pasadena. At approximately 7 p.m. on Monday, police conducted a traffic stop of the two suspects described in the tip, on Route 10 near Furnace Branch Road. Police arrested both occupants, and obtained a warrant to search a room in a Glen Burnie hotel. Officers seized approximately 70 grams of cocaine inside the hotel room, valued at $7,000 along with $800 in cash. Anne Arundel County police say they connected the teenagers to at least four residential burglaries.
Anne Arundel County police arrested three teenagers and charged them in connection with at least four burglaries, after finding the teens during a reported burglary-in-progress Monday afternoon. Officers responded to the 7700 block of Suitt Drive in Pasadena at about 1:15 p.m. and determined the burglars had left the scene. As officers investigated, another call for a burglary-in-progress was reported less than a mile away in the area of Colony and Fort Smallwood roads. This time, officers found three teens at the scene. Officers arrested Michael Ryan Deshawn-Patrick, 18, of Annapolis, and two juveniles whose names weren't released: a 16-year-old girl from Crofton and a 15-year-old boy from Pasadena. Dwyer pleaded guilty, seeking a lesser punishment in his trial on Tuesday.
A judge for the District Court in Annapolis sentenced Del. Don Dwyer (R–Pasadena) to 30 days in jail for driving a boat under the influence of alcohol, which led to a crash last August, reports The Capital-Gazette. On Monday, Dwyer announced his plan to plead guilty, but noted his subsequent involvement in an alcohol treatment program. The crash occurred on Aug. 22 between two boats on the Magothy River–one of which Dwyer was operating– and injured several people, including children. Dwyer himself suffered injuries to his foot and neck. In addition to jail time, Dwyer will pay a $1,000 fine and cooperate under one year of supervised probation, reports The Capital-Gazette.

Police say a pair of men used a taxi cab in several thefts in Pasadena.
Anne Arundel County police arrested two men after receiving a tip about suspicious activities in Pasadena on Saturday. Police charged both suspects, Nicholas Alexander Rinehults, 29, of Brooklyn Park and Terrell Tavon Myers, 33, of Curtis Bay, with two counts of theft and one count of rogue and vagabond. Shortly before 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Bar Harbor Drive for a report of someone looking into vehicles and lurking in yards. The report said a yellow car may have been part of the suspicious activity. Officers eventually located a yellow taxi cab with a man inside, parked at the Bar Harbor Marina. It has been more than three weeks since a fatal hit-and-run in Pasadena took the life of 15-year-old Skylar Marion, and still there are no leads on who was driving the Ford Expedition that struck two teenagers and drove off. As senseless teen deaths have become almost commonplace in the United States, a silver lining has emerged from this tragedy, and it comes from the people who lost the most–the Marion family.
