The new barbecue restaurant signed a lease in Magothy Beach Plaza in Pasadena.
There could be a new place to get barbecue in Anne Arundel County by the end of the summer. The BBQ Joint recently signed a lease for space at Magothy Beach Plaza, according to St. John Properties. The restaurant's concept was founded by Andrew Evans, who was the chef-owner of the Inn at Easton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, according to a press release from St. John. Serving what is dubbed "competition-quality BBQ," Evans reportedly was a judge in barbecue competitions and spent time perfecting various barbecue recipes and slow-cooking techiques. Anne Arundel County police are seeking information on two suspects who used credit cards stolen, along with a wallet, from the locker room in the Big Vanilla Athletic Club in Pasadena on Wednesday. Police said the men, pictured above, left the athletic club on Magothy Beach Road and then used the credit cards at the CVS store, also on Magothy Beach Road. Police are seeking information on the robbery of a Subway restaurant in Pasadena on Tuesday.
Anne Arundel County police are seeking a suspect in the armed robbery of a Subway restaurant in Pasadena on Tuesday. Shortly before 5 p.m., a man entered the Subway on the 8200 block of Ritchie Highway, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The employee complied, handing over cash and the suspect fled. Arriving officers searched the immediate area, but failed the locate the suspect. Police described the suspect as a white male in his 40s, wearing sunglasses, a dark blue Adidas sweatshirt, light-colored blue jeans and white tennis shoes. Police seized more than $38,000 worth of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms and a sawed-off shotgun from a Pasadena home Monday.
Anne Arundel County police arrested two Pasadena men on Monday on charges of possession of marijuana as well as having an altered shotgun and psilocybin mushrooms–commonly referred to as "psychedelic" mushrooms. Shortly after 5 p.m., narcotics and tactical patrol officers carried out a search warrant at a residence on the 1200 block of Hillside Road. Officers found 3.6 pounds of loose marijuana, 14 marijuana plants and 58 capsules of marijuana, worth approximately $38,000, according to police. They also seized 6.9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, worth $243, and several items for marijuana production. Police are still looking for the driver of the Ford Expedition involved in the hit-and-run on Friday night.
Anne Arundel County police announced Skylar Marion, the Pasadena teen struck in a hit-and-run near his home Friday night, died Monday. Police originally reported that two teens were struck by a 1997-2002 Ford Expedition on the 4500 block of Mountain Road, which is the same block of Skylar's home. The second victim was sent in serious condition to Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital, and there has been no update of her status. Anne Arundel County police are seeking the driver of a Ford Expedition involved in a hit-and-run in Pasadena that sent two teenagers to the hospital Friday night. Police said one of the juveniles is in critical condition at Shock Trauma. Shortly before 9:30 p.m., a 1997-2002 Ford Expedition struck two pedestrians who were walking in a narrow shoulder on Mountain Road, near Alvin Drive, in the direction of westbound traffic. The vehicle continued westbound after striking the pedestrians, resulting in damage to the passenger side headlight, blinker, hood and quarter panel, according to police. A report says police announced drug charges against a Pasadena man, but authorities are looking into possible gun violations.
Anne Arundel County police arrested a Pasadena man after a search warrant turned up drugs and 30 guns on Tuesday, according to The Washington Post. Police seized the guns, including seven AK-47s, as well as body armor, ammunition and other weapons, according to the report. Police have not filed any weapons charges against the man, according to court records, but police spokesperson Justin Mulcahy told The Post that authorities are looking into whether the man legally had the guns in his possession.
