People who spotted the apparent meteor described it as a bright, colorful object streaking across the night sky.

Twitter was abuzz Friday night with reports of a large, bright meteor streaking across the night sky over the Eastern Seaboard. Facebook reports began coming in saying the meteor was seen over the skies of Anne Arundel County by residents in Pasadena, Glen Burnie and Odenton. Facebook user Joanna White Kille described it as, "a big green fireball going from left to right just above us and then burning out as it headed towards land," near Waugh Chapel. A man identifying himself as "Greg C." said he was driving east on Route 32 near Fort Meade when he saw the meteor.
