Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Severna Park: Police
SEVERNA PARK, MD — A pedestrian died after a car hit him Thursday evening in Severna Park, police said.
Officers identified the victim as 45-year-old Jeffrey Scott Simmons of Severna Park.
Authorities said a 2012 Toyota sedan hit Simmons around 9 p.m. in the 800 block of southbound Ritchie Highway.
Police said Simmons was wearing all dark, non-reflective clothing and was in the travel lanes.
Officers said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department took Simmons to a hospital, where he died soon after.
Authorities said the driver was not hurt.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
