Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Truck On Ritchie Highway: Police

PASADENA, MD - A pedestrian died after a truck hit him this weekend in Pasadena, police said.

Officers identified the victim as 44-year-old Michael Steven Chilcote of Pasadena.

Authorities said they heard about the crash Saturday around 8:50 p.m. in the 8100 block of southbound Ritchie Highway.

Police said the pedestrian was in the travel portion of the highway when a 2016 Ford E-350 box truck hit him.

A press release said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department took the pedestrian to an undisclosed hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers said the pedestrian was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing.

The driver was not hurt, authorities said.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
