PASADENA, MD - River Days, a free nautical festival, is coming to Pasadena's Fort Smallwood Park on Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This is the third and final installment of River Days, which debuted this summer in hopes of promoting water access in Anne Arundel County.
The previous two River Days were in Annapolis at Quiet Waters Park on July 16 and Aug. 27. Plans are already underway for next year's River Days.
“When we envisioned River Days, we wanted to create an opportunity for residents from all across our county to get out on the water, celebrate our local rivers, and learn about how to protect them,” Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman said in an August press release. “This is our first year hosting these festivals, and I hope that they will continue to grow. I encourage everyone to join us.”
All are welcome to attend the event, which will feature free boat rides and kayak lessons.
Attendees can also visit a fireboat from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, play games or get their face painted.
Live music, food trucks and environmental education are other highlights.
Park entrance is also free when guests show their River Days tickets at the gate.
Attendees must register in advance at this link.
Watermark Charters will take groups for a 30-minute ride on the Patapsco River aboard Miss Anne. Reservations, available here, are required.
Kayak lessons, which are filling fast, also require registrations on this webpage.
