ARNOLD, MD - Anne Arundel County has a new lighted boat parade.

This Saturday, at least 22 boats will parade around Deep Creek in Arnold.

The most popular public viewing spot will be Donnelly's Dockside, a waterfront bar and restaurant overlooking the route. Diners should anticipate a packed house at Donnelly's and plan accordingly.

The parade starts at 6 p.m. on the Magothy River, just offshore from Lake Placid. Boats will then travel down Deep Creek and turn around at Donnelly's.

From there, they proceed to the mouth of Deep Creek and turn around at Persimmon Point. The parade returns to Donnelly's a final time, where participants will dock.

Organizer Jack Bahen is recruiting more boats to join. For sign-up information, click here.

"The weather Saturday is looking fantastic for the 1st annual Deep Creek Lighted Boat Parade," Bahen said Tuesday on the Magothy River Association's Facebook page. "We're up to 22 boats and counting!! Please continue to spread the word."
