SEVERNA PARK, MD - Severna Park High School won the Class 3A girls soccer state championship Saturday at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore. The Falcons defeated Mt. Hebron 2-0 to finish the season with a perfect 17-0 record, The Capital reported.

The Capital said this is the program's seventh state title and its first in 20 years. The win avenged a 2019 loss in the state finals on penalty kicks.

"We just said, 'Hey, we're going to attack every game,'" coach Rick Stimpson told The Capital. "No point to being focused on being perfect the whole season. We wanted to develop the mindset for when we got to playoffs."
